Your quotes. Decoded.
Every conclusion comes with the context behind it. Scores are provisional until licensing and other records are independently confirmed.
Ranges are what pros in your city typically charge for the same job. A quote outside the range isn't wrong, but ask why. How we price.

How we judge it
Three numbers for every job, in every city
Low
What the cheaper end of the market charges. A quote under this is unusual, so check what's left out.
Typical
What most homeowners in that city pay. At or under typical is a good price.
High
The top of the normal range. Above it, ask why, or get a second quote.
Prices are researched for each city and checked against published sources. How we price.
Questions
About quotes
My quote is higher than the range. Am I being ripped off?
Not always. Permits, hard access, after-hours work, old wiring or pipes, and higher-end equipment all push prices up. Ask the pro what's driving the price. If the answer is vague, get a second quote.
My quote is lower than the range. Is that bad?
It can be a great deal. It can also mean something's missing, like the service call fee, parts, permits or cleanup. Ask for an itemized quote in writing.
Should I compare an hourly rate or a job price?
Whatever your quote is. If the pro quoted a rate per hour, pick the hourly line. If they quoted the whole job, pick the job that matches.
Do you keep my quote?
Yes. If you upload a PDF or photo, we privately store the original file, extracted quote details, our comparison report and relevant conversations with Casey so you can follow up. We may use these records to improve our service. We do not share your uploaded invoice with contractors unless you ask us to. A typed-price check does not upload a document. Read our privacy policy.
What if it can't tell what my quote is for?
It asks you. Pick the trade and the job, and we check the price straight away.
