Builders often book cleaning in up to three passes. The rough clean removes debris, scrap and loose dust while trades are still working. The final clean details every surface once the work is done. A touch-up pass removes the last dust before move-in or a walk-through.
Homeowners after a remodel usually need only the final clean — $400–$1,200 for 2,000 sq ft.
02
Why it costs more than a deep clean
Drywall and sawdust are fine enough to settle on every ledge, inside cabinets and in vents, and they come back after the first wipe. Crews use HEPA vacuums that trap fine dust, scrape paint and stickers off glass, and clean inside every cabinet and fixture. A deep clean of a 3-bed home is $180–$420; a post-construction clean of a 2,000 sq ft home is $400–$1,200, two to three times as much.
03
What drives the price
Square footage, how much dust and debris is left, and the number of windows. Post-construction window cleaning is often charged per window ($10–$22), and hauling away leftover debris adds $200–$600.
Many crews bill by the hour at $30–$50/hr per worker, often with a minimum of a full day for two workers. Ask whether the builder's contract already includes a final clean before you book one.

Watch out
Safety and timing
Book the final clean after all trades are finished and the heating and cooling (HVAC) filters have been changed, or dust will keep coming back. Cutting concrete, tile or stone makes silica dust, which should be vacuumed with HEPA equipment, not swept dry.
