Does garage door panel and track repair cost change by city?
Yes. The same job costs more where labor and rent cost more. Here's how garage door repair prices in the biggest US metros compare with the US typical of $275.

Lift cables run from the bottom of the door to the springs. A frayed or snapped cable costs $100–$350 to replace, both sides. Stop using the door if one snaps: the other side is carrying all the weight.
Worn rollers make a door loud and jerky. A full set costs $100–$250. Nylon rollers are quieter than steel ones and are a common upgrade at the same visit.
02
Off-track doors and bent tracks
A door comes off its track when a cable snaps, a roller breaks or the door gets hit. Resetting it and realigning the track costs $125–$300; a bent track section that has to be replaced runs $125–$400.
Don't try to force an off-track door up or down. It can fall, and the springs are still under tension.
03
Dents and damaged panels
A small dent in a steel panel can often be pulled or filled for $100–$300. A panel too damaged to fix costs $250–$1,000 to replace, if the maker still sells a match for your door.
When two or more panels are hurt, or the door is old and the panel is no longer made, a new single door at $750–$2,200 often makes more sense.
04
Seals, sensors and tune-ups
A worn bottom seal lets in water, leaves and pests, so replace it when it cracks. A misaligned photo-eye sensor stops the door closing; a fix is $85–$250.
A tune-up at $75–$225 lubricates the moving parts, balances the springs and checks the cables and safety reverse. Every year or two is plenty for most homes.
