A normal clean wipes the sill. Detailing — vacuuming and scrubbing the tracks where dirt and bugs collect — costs $2–$8 a window. Wiping the frames is $4–$10 a window at companies that list it.
Second-floor glass is part of a normal two-story job ($220–$500 for about 25 windows). Third- and fourth-floor windows add $3–$5 each because of longer ladders or poles. Skylights cost $20–$35 each because the cleaner works on the roof.
Higher than ladders and poles can reach, the job becomes rope-access or lift work at $15–$40 a window. Federal safety rules (OSHA, 29 CFR 1910.27) generally bar rope descent systems above 300 feet, and the building owner must confirm in writing that each anchor point has been tested and certified. That is why towers use specialist firms.
Rinse screens yourself with a hose and soft brush to save $40–$120 on 20 screens. Have tracks detailed once a year, not every visit. Ask for one price that lists every add-on, so you can drop the ones you don't need.
